Software Engineer, LabVIEW / TestStand Developer

Fastek International Ltd., a rapid response engineering firm located in Cedar Rapids, IA, with a branch office in Milwaukee, WI, has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer, LabVIEW / TestStand Developer. This position is available at either office.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position performs the design, development, test, integration, and documentation of software for Fastek’s NI/LabVIEW/TestStand Configurable Automated Test System (CATS) product family. This position will report to Fastek’s Engineering Manager in the applicable office. The preferred placement is the Fastek Brookfield, WI office, with the Cedar Rapids, IA office an alternative.

SKILLS:

  • Development of applications using LabVIEW and TestStand software tools
  • Development of associated hardware solutions for Test, Measurement and/or Control
  • Test and integration of software and hardware solutions
  • Capturing customer requirements, writing proposals, and on-site customer support
  • Extensive interface with customers and some traveling

EXPERIENCE:

  • Development experience with National Instruments’ LabVIEW is required.
    • Minimum of 2 years of LabVIEW development experience required
    • Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) required
    • Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or Architect (CLA) preferred
  • Development experience with National Instruments’ TestStand is required.
    • Minimum of 2 years of TestStand development experience required
    • Certified TestStand Developer (CTD) required
    • Certified TestStand Architect (CTA) preferred
  • While software development is the primary focus, strong electrical and mechanical knowledge are preferred to support automated test equipment development for industrial and avionics applications.
  • Experience with National Instruments Data Acquisition hardware (cDAQ, cRIO, PXI, PCI) is preferred.
  • Programming skills in C, C++, C# are a plus.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, ability to work in fast paced, self-directed environment are required.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering)
